TeamPulse Momentum Tracker: Detect Burnout & Trajectory Shifts

The Momentum Tracker is a core intelligence layer within TeamPulse for SuiteCRM designed to detect short-term behavioral trajectory shifts. While the Discipline Score provides a snapshot of process adherence, the Momentum Engine tracks velocity – answering whether a representative’s performance is accelerating or decelerating over a 14-day window. This allows managers to identify early burnout signals and intervene before behavioral declines impact revenue.

Detailed Breakdown

The Momentum Tracker organizes complex behavioral data into scannable trend indicators and comparative tables.

The Momentum Engine and Trajectory States

The engine monitors specific signals, including activity volume delta (current week vs. prior week), follow-up delay increases, deal touch frequency changes, and CRM inactivity streaks. Based on this data, representatives are categorized into one of three states:

State Visual Indicator Criteria Behavioral Meaning
Growing ? (Green) Activity volume increased >10% week-over-week. The representative is actively building pipeline.
Stable ? (Grey) Consistent rhythm with no major deviations. The representative is maintaining a consistent daily effort.
Declining ? (Red) Activity volume dropped >20%. Early burnout signal. Potential disengagement.

Team Trend Line

Located at the top of the view, this line chart visualizes the team’s average discipline score over the selected date range.

  • Rising Line: Indicates overall team improvement and strengthening process discipline.
  • Falling Line: Warrants immediate investigation into team-wide burnout or systemic hurdles.

Per-Rep Trend Table

This ranked table displays how individual scores have shifted since the start of the selected period.

  • Metrics: Includes the representative’s Name, Current Score, Change (+/- delta), and a Trend Arrow.
  • Delta Badges: Shows a +N vs avg delta badge, appearing green if the score is above the 70-point benchmark and red if below.
  • Sorting: The table is sortable by Score, Name, or Calls to prioritize reps with the steepest declines.

Momentum Signals

Reps with three or more consecutive score drops are automatically flagged with a Momentum Signal. Unlike standard Coaching Signals, which focus on absolute performance levels, Momentum Signals focus exclusively on the direction of behavior. This helps catch high-scoring reps who have recently stopped working before their cumulative score drops below critical thresholds.

Sparkline Cards

The interface utilizes sparkline cards to provide a compact visual history of a representative’s trajectory. These cards allow managers to spot “drop-offs” – sharp declines that often correlate with lost momentum or personal issues.

How to Use It

Managers and Team Leads should use the Momentum Tracker to move from reactive to proactive management.

  1. Set the Timeframe: Use the Date Range Selector (1W, 1M, or Custom) in the top bar to define the analysis window. The 14-day window is the default for detecting momentum. Note: the 3M filter is not available – supported ranges are 1W, 2W, 1M, and Custom.
  2. Filter by Team: Use the Team Selector dropdown to narrow the view to specific groups.
  3. Identify Exceptions: Look for representatives marked as Declining ? in red, even if their total Discipline Score remains high.
  4. Sort for Urgency: Click the Score or Calls column headers in the Trend Table to identify who has the largest negative change over the period.
  5. Drill Down: Click on a representative’s trend card or name to open the Member Drill view for a deeper dive into specific factor declines.

Next Steps / Decisions

After analyzing the Momentum Tracker, a manager should take one or more of the following actions:

  • Intervene on Burnout: If a top performer shows Declining Momentum, schedule a “pulse check” 1:1 to identify if the drop is due to burnout or personal issues.
  • Investigate Inactivity: For reps with a Declining ? status, check for a CRM inactivity streak to see if they have stopped logging calls or updating deals.
  • Reinforce Growth: Send a Kudos or positive coaching note to representatives showing Growing ? momentum to reinforce building behaviors.
  • Prevent Bad Months: Identify declines in the first week of a month to prevent a poor month-end result.

Troubleshooting / FAQ

Why does a rep have a high Discipline Score but “Declining” momentum?
The Discipline Score is a weighted average of historical data. Momentum only looks at the velocity of the last 14 days. A rep can have a high score from three weeks of great work but “Declining” momentum because they stopped logging activities recently.

How much data is required for the Momentum Tracker to be accurate?
The engine typically requires 5-7 days of consistent activity history to establish a baseline and generate a meaningful trajectory.

What is the difference between a Momentum Signal and a Coaching Signal?
A Coaching Signal triggers based on a specific failure (e.g., “3 Deals Stalled”). A Momentum Signal triggers based on a pattern of decline (e.g., three consecutive score drops), regardless of whether a specific hygiene rule was broken.
