TeamPulse Leaderboard: Sales Team Rankings & Discipline Deltas

In many sales organizations, the only metric that matters is revenue. However, revenue is a lagging indicator – by the time a rep misses their quota, the behavioral breakdown happened weeks or months ago. The Leaderboard in TeamPulse for SuiteCRM shifts the focus to leading indicators by stack-ranking team members based on their Discipline Score.

This screen solves the primary pain point of behavioral invisibility. It allows sales managers to see exactly who is following the sales process with precision and who is drifting into at-risk territory. By standardizing performance based on effort, consistency, and CRM hygiene, managers can foster healthy competition while identifying coaching needs long before they impact the bottom line.

Detailed Breakdown: The “What”

The Leaderboard is a comprehensive, ranked performance table designed for tactical management and weekly team reviews. It provides a transparent view of how every team member compares against organizational benchmarks and their peers.

The Ranking Table

The core of the Leaderboard is a sortable table that lists reps from the highest Discipline Score to the lowest. This ensures that “top performers” are defined by their adherence to the sales process.

The table includes the following columns:

  • Rank (#): The numerical standing of the rep within the filtered team.
  • Rep: Name and role of the team member, accompanied by their initials/avatar.
  • Calls: Total number of calls logged within the selected date range.
  • Meets: Total number of meetings held.
  • Tasks: A completion indicator (e.g., ? 1) showing successfully completed tasks.
  • ? VS 70: The performance delta showing how many points a rep’s score sits above or below the 70-point “Standard” benchmark.
  • Score: The final 0-100 Discipline Score, visualized with a color-coded ring.

Medal System and Visual Indicators

To promote positive reinforcement and high-level discipline, TeamPulse uses several visual cues:

  • Medal Icons: The top three performers in the ranking table are awarded Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals respectively.
  • Score Rings: The score rings are color-coded based on specific performance tiers:
    • Green (>=75): Exceptional or Strong behavior.
    • Amber (50-74): Developing with minor behavioral gaps.
    • Red (<50): Critical; indicates a significant process breakdown.
  • Staggered Animations: When the Leaderboard loads, rows enter with a staggered 60ms delay, providing a polished UI experience.

Performance Deltas (? VS 70)

A key feature of the Leaderboard is the delta column. TeamPulse benchmarks “Standard” performance at a score of 70. The delta column calculates the variance:

  • Green Deltas: Indicate the rep is exceeding the 70-point benchmark (e.g., +15).
  • Red Deltas: Indicate the rep is falling short of the benchmark (e.g., -42).

How to Use It: The “How”

The Leaderboard is highly interactive and serves as a gateway to deeper behavioral diagnostics.

  1. Filter by Team: If you manage multiple departments (e.g., SMB, Midmarket, Enterprise), use the Team Selector dropdown at the top to narrow the list.
  2. Adjust Date Ranges: Toggle between 1W (last 7 days), 2W, 1M (last 30 days), or a Custom range. The Leaderboard will automatically refresh to show rankings for that specific period. Note: the 3M filter is not available.
  3. Sort the Data: Click any column header (e.g., Score, Name, or Calls) to re-sort the list. This is useful for identifying the highest-call-volume rep of the week or seeing who has the most active signals regardless of their rank.
  4. Drill Down: Click on any rep’s row to navigate directly to their Member Drill view. This allows you to investigate the specific factor breakdowns (e.g., Deal Hygiene vs. Task Completion) that resulted in their current rank.
  5. Export Data: Click the Download icon at the top-right of the table to generate a CSV export of the current view for use in external reporting or performance reviews.

Next Steps / Decisions

After reviewing the Leaderboard, a manager should take the following proactive steps:

  • Public Recognition: Use the medal positions to publicly praise the top three performers in team meetings, focusing on their discipline and consistency.
  • Identify Coaching Targets: Look for reps in the bottom quartile, particularly those with a Red Score (<50). These individuals require immediate intervention.
  • Analyze the Delta: For reps with a large negative ? VS 70, investigate their Member Drill to see if the issue is a specific lack of activity (Calls/Meets) or poor hygiene (Stale Deals).
  • Monitor Trajectory: If a historically top-ranked rep begins sliding down the Leaderboard, check their Momentum state to catch potential burnout before it results in a missed quota.

Troubleshooting / FAQ

Q: Why is my top-selling rep ranked low on the Leaderboard?
TeamPulse measures behavioral discipline, not revenue. If a high-revenue rep is not logging calls, has stale deals, or ignores task deadlines, their Discipline Score will be low. This serves as a warning that their future pipeline may be at risk due to poor CRM habits.

Q: How often is the ranking data updated?
The Leaderboard refreshes automatically every 5 minutes based on live SuiteCRM data. You can also trigger a manual refresh using the icon in the top header.

Q: Can I change the 70-point benchmark?
The 70-point benchmark is the system standard for “Standard” performance. While the benchmark itself is fixed, you can adjust the Scoring Rules in Settings to change how the weights of the five factors – Follow-up, Tasks, Updates, Hygiene, and Continuity – influence the final score. Note: scoring weights are read-only in v0.9.9; slider customization is planned for version 1.0.
